Central City Colorado: Brooke & Tom

This is by far the coolest, most unexpected photo session I have ever done.  Brooke contacted a few days before attending an Opera with her boyfriend, Tom,  in Central City.  They decided to dress up for the big night, which made the idea even more special!  I was beyond thrilled, for it would be my 1st time shooting in my home town!! What I didn’t expect was a surprise proposal at the end of the session.  Yes, that’s right.  Tom PROPOSED and Brooke had no idea!!  It was soooooo sweet and adorable and I can’t believe I was there to capture it!  You two rock!

Red Rocks Trading Post: Melissa & Jack

Melissa & Jack wed at the Red Rock Trading Post in Morrison, Colorado on June 27, 2010.  The Trading Post is located  in the center of the park next to the amphitheater.  That same day one of my favorite bands, Widespread Panic, was playing in the amphitheater.  Although I couldn’t really hear them, it was super fun to be there!

Congratulations Melissa & Jack!  I had a wonderful time at your wedding.  A special thanks to Beth & Ed (a past bridal couple) for referring Melissa to me!!  And a special special thanks to Rachelle DeJeses for assisting me!!!

Melissa & Jack have the cutest little boy named Jonathan.  He was so good throughout the entire ceremony!

Theses two stole the show before the ceremony.

Kokomo Lodge Copper Mountain: Tess & Joe

I love Colorado for many reasons… the scenery, outdoor activities, great people, lack of humidity, and one of the most beautiful places on earth, Summit County.  I’d move there in a heartbeat if it wasn’t for my own little paradise 35 miles away in Black Hawk.  So, I was overjoyed when Tess & Joe asked me to photograph their wedding at the quaint Komodo Lodge on Copper Mountain.
Tess & Joe started dating in high school and chose to wed 9 years later alongside eight of their loved ones.  The ceremony was held on the deck that overlooked the backside of Copper Resort.  After the ceremony, we wondered 100 feet from the lodge to find open meadows and a spectacular view of the Rockies… and the best part, we had it all to ourselves!!  The day turned out perfect.  Congratulations Tess & Joe!  I adore photographing small intimate weddings and feel honored to have been apart of yours!!
                 Tess’s veil was BEAUTIFULLLL…..
                 I’m getting married!
                   I do, I do, I do, I do…..
                   Yeaahhh, we’re married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love a bride that will hike up a mountain in high heel shoes!
                   Hey guys… whatcha thinking!
Wind, thank you for coming out and blowing at the perfect moment!!!!!!!
                      :):):)
The chair lift wasn’t running for another week but that didn’t stop us from having a little fun!
                   You are gorrrgeeeeooouusss!!
                   So Sweet!!!!!!!
                   Look at those loooooong lashes…

                   Love this shot……
                  Getting a little crazzzzzyyyyy…

Sylvan Lake Lodge, South Dakota: Jen & Franklin

I truly love photographing my friend’s weddings, especially destination ones.  My friend, Jennifer, was no exception and was thrilled when she told me she was getting married overlooking Sylvan Lake in South Dakota.  I met Jennifer back in high school when I was a senior and she was a freshman.  We played volleyball together and started hanging out one day (probably due to my superb qualities as a role model… LOL).
The outdoor venue was beautiful,  but on the day of the wedding the clouds started to roll in.  We crossed our fingers and hoped for the best, but as the ceremony was about to begin the rain began to fall and we had to relocate inside to the reception area.  The lodge proved to be just as beautiful and  in the end, everything turned out beautifully.
I’m so happy for you Jen.  I never imagined 15 years ago I’d be at your wedding as your friend and photographer.  Franklin, it was a pleasure getting to know you… you seem perfect for each other.  I wish you the very best and can’t wait to come visit you on your boat in St. Thomas!  Love you.
